I built this ranch saddle for my oldest son, Tayton, when he was about 12... (he currently owns 4 saddles while his dad currently owns none, go figure).
It's handcrafted on a 14" Modified Association tree with a 12" fork and 5" cantle..the chestnut Wickett and Craig skirting is heavily tooled with "screaming eagle" on the seat jockeys and "Born To Buck" tooled down the length of the exposed stirrup leathers.
Kind of funny how this saddle started out to be "I just want a completely plain roughout, Dad " and gradually evolved into what you see here!

I enjoy building fancy full floral tooled handmade saddles, but find just as much enjoyment in building a "Plain Jane" roughout saddle. I simply like to build cowboy saddles for people who will "put them to the test."
